Our Home Depot 13K kitchen included a sink base that was totally made out of plastic. Very easy to clean but very hard to install as the box frame is so flimsy that it reminds you of an empty cardboard box where the sides can wiggle side to side.

The frame of the CoreGuard cabinet is not structurally stable so that it's shape is not consistent. Install was made much more difficult by our installer. The Home Depot kitchen designer says she, now, never recommends them anymore. Stay away.

In order to install the sink, the countertop installers had to cut away sections of the plastic base that weakened the box further. Stay with a plywood box cabinet and you will be much better off.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

1. CoreGuard sink bases are not designed to be cut for sink installation.

Your designer should have known this and sized the sink cabine to accommodate the sink you were using. 2. The cabinet must be installed/screwed to a wall in the back side and a cabinet or a wall on one side (ok to use a dish washer on the other side). It is not intended to be used as the last cabinet at the end of a run.

There are specific installation instruction supplied with this cabinet and available from KraftMaid. It sounds like your designer was not aware of the requirements for this cabinet (which are referenced in the designer's training).

Sorry you had a bad experiance with the CoreGuard. It's a great cabinet if designed/installed as intended.

Weโ€™re having the same issues! The way my designer talked, this cabinet was great, but she has never installed one!

My installer says itโ€™s garbage because itโ€™s flimsy with little to no information as to fastening it to the wall which is needed to stabilize further! Mine didnโ€™t even come with a back or side panel!

The CoreGuard is not designed to be appearance finished on the back or sides. It is designed to be against other surfaces like walls, appliances, or other cabinets. It sounds like your designed needs more training.
